When work progresses, the committee will revisit the list for additional applicants to enter into the program. 8-30-11 Applicants: For those seeking information on the evaluation process, we apologize for not having the scores posted at this time. The process of evaluation is very time consuming and the scores are being computed. We hope to have the individual scores posted some time Wednesday August 31, 2011. As an update to those who have been following the events, please note the following. After the written scores were returned from the testing firm, the JOINT APPRENTICE COMMITTEE chose to call in the top 50 applicants with the highest test scores for an oral interview. This does not mean by any means that anyone is disqualified but the committee felt that was a reasonable sampling of applicants for the amount of apprentices they will be looking to take this year. Those 50 applicants that were contacted attended an oral interview process on Thursday August 25, 2011. It is from these 50 top scoring applicants that the committee will be making their selection this year. Please understand that all applications will be kept for a minimum of 2 years and each individual will be eligible for that time period. Because of the poor economy, the JAC is limited on the number of applicants it can bring into the program at this time. We would like to thank every applicant for their interest and patience in this process. The applicants that are to be accepted this year will be contacted by phone and by mail. Those applicants that may not have been chosen at this time will also receive a letter to that effect. All applications will be kept on file and the ranking of applicants will be made according to the oral interviews along with the written test scores. Below you will find a link to the Excel file of test scores. The Joint Apprentice Committee will start calling in from the top ranked applicant until they reach a reasonable amount of applicants to invite to an oral interview. It should be understood that even though some applicants may not be called in at this time, they will remain active and eligible for a minimum of two years. The committee has given thought to possibly accepting 6 to 10 apprentice applicants for this years class. The state of the economy and the current work situation around the area will dictate that number and future applicants accepted into the program. Understand this also: acceptance into the training program does not guarantee work. Please understand that new apprentices will be expected to attend all classes and training functions regardless of working conditions. We have no control over the amount of work available but will make every attempt to secure work for each individual in the program. You may click on the link below to see your test scores and ranking. Those invited to interview will have that interview score combined with their test score to create a new ranking. Thus everyone invited in for an oral interview will have an opportunity to improve their ranking. |
