Ironworkers Local union 444 is a member of the International Association of
Bridge, Structural, Ornamental, and Reinforcing Iron Workers.  Iron workers
erect structural steel buildings, bridges, raise pre-cast units for buildings and
bridges, install ornamental components, and work in all forms of concrete
reinforcement.  Along with the core units listed above of our trade, our workers
are trained to meet the safety and technological advances for tomorrows
construction needs.  We maintain a training center with up-to-date information
on new products, new techniques, and safety improvements.  An AWS
certified welding facility with 12 weld booths are available to members for weld
certification and training.  We have  AWS certified welding inspectors
available for members certification and upgrade.
Union ironworkers have been serving the construction industry since 1896.  The Joliet local union no. 444
